Workshop Pulp Printing - the pictures
Last weekend I joined a two day workshop at De Boekwerkplaats in Stedum. This little village northeast of Groningen is really picturesque. On holidays in your own country... De Boekwerkplaats is situated at the border of this village, next to the meadows, the view is outstanding and so is the hospitality!
The workshop was provided by Pien Rotterdam of Water Leaf Paper & Words. I learned a lot of new things and I gained inspiration for new booklets and opportunities. The workshop was about papermaking and printing patterns in the wet paper. Because of the used method the pattern becomes one with the paper, you don't feel the pattern, you just see it.

No time to go to the beach
So many things to do ... and not enough time ...
that's why I share this airy beach glass picture,
... for all my beach dreamings ...
soon I will make time for a long beachwalk!

New Book Press
Yesterday I bought a really good and very heavy bookpress. The press has been manufactured
by Karl Krause from Leipzig - Germany. This company was founded in 1855 and has been very
important for the development of bookbinding. Karl Krause invented new devices for stack cutting, book presses and cardboard scissors.
Unfortunately I can't find any information on the internet about H.B. Ydo Machinehandel, the Dutch firm that sold this press.
Information about Karl Krause:
